The Eunoia Team Reflects on Social Work Month

We’re grateful for our therapists everyday, but the month of March is extra special. This Social Work month, we asked our clinicians some questions about their love for social work. Read on to learn more about our team and celebrate with us!

Elondra Varice, LMSW-C

I became a social worker because of the versatility. I can work in any environment to support people who need it the most. People are diverse, so our work should be as well!

Kelsey Gault, LMSW-C

My favorite thing about being a social worker is the constant growth and perspective challenging that occurs. I love learning new techniques for therapy, but I learn the most from my clients!

Michelle Atton, LMSW-C

Though she wasn’t “officially” a social worker; I really admire the work of Dolores Huerta and her legacy. Her activism to protect agricultural workers and leading civil rights movements alongside Cesar Chavez is so inspiring.

Angie Mugabekazi, LLMSW

Coming to this country as a Refugee, my family and I faced a lot of adversities in adjusting to this country. I got the privilege to finish college and work with Refugees. This made me have a yearning passion to be a social worker because I saw how my skills helped others.

Ugne Paalksnyte-Alt, LMSW-C

The ability to meet people with where they are at! Being a social worker allows me to have a holistic view of people’s needs and how the systems that they participate in impact them. Focusing on the whole person helps in the healing process.

Brooke Houser, LMSW-C

Frances Perkins illustrates how versitile Social Workers can be. She is a great example of both micro and macro practice. Frances was the first woman to serve on the presidential cabinet, was integral to The New Deal and also served at Hull House. Her work reminds me just how impactful our work can be.
